
02.01.26 Advanced Compression
This advanced-level workshop is designed for clinicians seeking to deepen their expertise in managing complex compression therapy cases. Participants will explore unique patient diagnoses and challenges that these presentations present. Case studies and live patient models are reviewed to determine the ideal garment selection for each patient.
The session emphasizes advanced garment fitting techniques, including specialized JOBST® flat knit options, night garment choices, troubleshooting ill-fitting garments, and applying precise “Landmark” measurements for challenging patients. By the end, attendees will be equipped to implement comprehensive plans for measurement and fitting tailored to individual patient needs.
After this workshop, students should be able to:
- Discuss unique patient diagnosis, treatment, and management
- Debate current surgical and non-invasive lymphedema treatments and their effect on compression garment use
- Discuss limited use/special Elvarex® options for improved garment fit
- Assess unique and challenging patients and determine appropriate garment style and options
- Examine ill-fitting/inappropriate garments and develop a plan to correct
- Demonstrate appropriate advanced “Landmark” measuring techniques for unique and challenging patients
- Implement clinical plan for measurement and fitting of unique patients
